I am a French Canadian quilt maker and textile artist living and working in South London. I learned how to sew from my mother and started experimenting with fabrics by sewing bed linens and kitchen textiles. In 2008 I left a career in academia and took on quilting, and have been making quilts full time for the last 8 years. My work reflects a deep love of textiles, colour and abstract, minimalist art that I channel in every quilt.
I work from a studio in Camberwell, in South East London. Do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or comments. I will be spending most of next year working on a personal project and as a consequence will not be taking commission work until Autumn 2024. I sometimes have a few pieces available for purchase via Partnership Editions: https://partnershipeditions.com/collections/catherine-marie-longtin You can read more about me and my quilts here: https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/features/design-and-living/fabric-makers-catherine-marie-longtin.html https://www.selvedge.org/blogs/selvedge/winter-fair-catherine-marie-longtin https://www.houseandgarden.co.uk/article/interiors-side-hustles https://www.londoncraftweek.com/makers_partners_experts/catherine-marie-longtin/ |
