Verticals (grey, red)
This cotton quilt is inspired by Anni Albers' "With Verticals" (1946), a woven wall hanging on display at the Tate Modern in 2018-2019. The warm dark grey fabric is an organic chambray cotton; the red stripes are made of cotton or linen remnants, including a few Japanese prints and a vintage Liberty floral. The quilt is machine quilted with simple lines and the red cotton binding is hand sewn. At the back is a soft dark grey and white stripy cotton.
This is a lightweight quilt, the perfect size to cover a sofa or a single bed or drape across the end of a double bed.
